Amanda Powell Walker is an interior designer based in New York City. Her philosophy is to create interiors that are inspired by the interests and personalities of her clients, while also borrowing from her own repertoire of history, art, travel and fashion. Prior to launching her own firm, Amanda worked for AD100 designers Fernando Santangelo and Michael S. Smith, decorator Bruce Shostak, and fashion designer Ralph Lauren. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Tulane University and an associate degree from the New York School of Interior Design.

During her over ten years in the design industry, Amanda has worked on projects in New York, Paris, Los Angeles New Orleans and Palm Beach. As founder and principal of Amanda Powell Design, her projects have included a 19th century mansion in New Orleans, a pied-a-terre in Paris, and a country estate in Westchester County.

Amanda is originally from Great Falls, Virginia, where she spent her youth dancing at the prestigious Washington School of Ballet. She went on to earn a degree in Finance and worked at JP Morgan for almost a decade in equity derivatives operations before returning to her creative roots to pursue a career in interior design.
